Tim Blum
Tim Blum is co-founder of the world-renowned gallery Blum & Poe. Founded in Santa Monica in 1994 with partner Jeff Poe. They are credited with launching the Culver City Arts District, upon moving the gallery to Culver City in 2003, and developing a museum-caliber art space. Since this time, they have expanded into New York and Tokyo. Blum is an expert in post-war Japanese and Korean art stemming from his experience living and working in Japan from 1990-1994.
Blum & Poe represent an influential roster of American, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, European and Latin American artists, including Mark Grotjahn, Henry Taylor, Sam Durant, Pia Camil, Solange Pessoa Mimi Lauter, Lee Ufan, Yoshitomo Nara, Ha Chong-Hyun, Yun Hyong-Keun, The Estate of Robert Colescott, Tomoo Gokita, etc. Blum & Poe is noted for mounting ambitious museum-grade exhibitions looking back in history, These include such landmark shows as “Requeim for the Sun: The Art of Mono Ha” (2012), “From All Sides: Tanseakhwa on Abstraction” (2014),“The Avant Garde Won’t Give Up: Cobra and it's Legacy” (2015), “Parergon: Japanese Art of the ’80s and '90s” (2019) and “New Images of Man” (2020).

Tim has been brought to wellness through his blessed relationship with his wife, Maria Blum. He describes her as a woman of, “vast depth, curiosity, and experience in a multitude of modalities related to all aspects of healing.” Through her influence and teachings, he has since embraced a number of practices, which he has implemented to heal himself physically, emotionally, and mentally. He brings a natural discipline to his daily practice. In addition to his wife, and some time spent living in Japan, the death of their daughter in 1995 accelerated his drive and need to embrace wellness and its healing practices.
